Bespoke Joinery

Here at Harber Carpentry and Restoration, we can build custom made internal and external doors to match existing styles or completely new to any size. Using traditional techniques to allow us to construct any bespoke build.

Hand made oak mouldings, made using mostly hand tools to match existing moulding. These are usually on the jetty beam externally to show off the wealth of the building. Sometimes on floor joints internally and the spine beams.

These are made by profiling the existing moulding, of which is transferred to the new  timber. This is usually air dried oak to prevent any more splits to the timber. The bulk of the material is cut out using a circular saw to different depths. Once the basic design is made, it is cleaned up using bespoke made steel scrapers to get to a lovely smooth finish. These will only very lightly be sanded to take the worst off, to still leave the quirky hand crafted finish.
