A few of our previous projects

Lime render onto clay block

The old cracked cement render was removed to show the clay lump blocks, these were consolidated with the base coat of the caulk based lime render. We also added a glass fibre based render mesh due to the proximity of the building to the road for added strength due to the movement of the road traffic and the extra moisture.

In the grounds off a 16th century cottage, was this stable block in need of repair. A new English oak sole plate, with new studs and a brace. Everything has been morticed and tenoned where original as this was found to be the case on the original plate.

re-point at all saints church

All saints church, Chancel parapet wall repoint in lime, due to the old failing over time. From the harsh weather conditions and the cement based products used in the past.

The old had cracked and failed over time, probably due to the recently modern loft hatch being installed. The split oak laths were saved where possible and new were fattened where needed. All re-plastered using a two coat chalk based lime plaster.

rotten window

Window maintenance is one of the main yearly jobs to keep timber windows in their best condition. All timber windows are repairable, even in the worst condition.

The timber frame has undergone significant deterioration, primarily due to the external brick façade and the use of cement mortar. Restored its integrity, we have replaced it with new English oak, meticulously hand planed to ensure a beautiful and durable result.

Lime rendered wall

Timber frame repairs and lime rendering.

The failed cement render was removed to show the tired and sorry looking timber frame. With a lovely surprise behind the render, covered over on both side, hidden for many year.

Green oak pergola

A beautifully constructed oak pergola, kept sawn to allow to silver up naturally and blend into background. note there's no front to back bracing this was to allow for an uninterrupted view out of the back door.
